In the real world, a crack is a failure vector. It's where the stress concentrates, where the fatigue cycles win, where the whole damn skyline comes crashing down. We don't decorate our failures; we calculate them, reinforce them, or we cut the joint entirely.

I've spent twenty years holding up New York and another decade dreaming of domes on Mars. I've seen what happens when you treat a structural flaw like a feature. It's ugly. It's expensive. And it's deadly.

The Kitchen Lab

So why talk about gumbo? Because cooking is just applied thermodynamics with higher stakes. You aren't "making dinner." You're managing a non-Newtonian fluid (that roux!) through a phase transition at 150°C. Too hot, and you burn the polymer chains. Too cold, and you never get the flavor release.

This site isn't a blog. It's a lab notebook. We're going to simulate the heat transfer, map the viscosity curves, and write protocols that would pass inspection in a Class-V habitat.
